Invasion of the Outlaws (part 2)

Mother-Outlaw hails from Hobbiton, so her cooking is as plain and simple and as British as can be. Hence, she is in awe of my spice and condiments cabinet (she says it smells wonderful). I love my spice cabinet too - when I open it, close my eyes and breathe in its exotic bouquet, its orange-purple aromas, I can feel the air around me warming up, I can am transported home.

The two of us have been exchanging cooking styles and it's fun to incorporate elements of other cultures into one's own cooking. Occasionally, when her back is turned, I'll add in a pinch of this and that, and the flavour of the dish is subtly altered with surprisingly delicious results.
Today, she is making cheesy meatballs with a creamy sauce. I've taken the liberty of adding a little bit of coriander and a hint of tumeric into the meat. She's laying them out all bonny on the baking tray and popping them into the oven, instead of shallow frying them (as I would've done).

This is gonna be fun.

Invasion of the Outlaws

I have come home from work to find that the Outlaws have invaded the home.

A surprise visit from the Outlaws can oftentimes be a shock to the system, especially when I have realised that the Father-Outlaw has taken it upon himself to dismantle the cistern in the bathroom and effect some repairs.

However, the blow is cushioned by the fact that the Mother-Outlaw has taken over the kitchen and she has filled it with moist chocolate-topped yoghurt-based cupcakes.
