Starry-eyed in Singapore (II)
So far we have bought:
1. 2 pairs of black kitten-heeled shoes for work
2. 2 pairs of Converse sneakers
3. 1 pair of white trainers
4. 7 anime DVD boxsets
5. 1 gem-studded pendant
6. 3 new books (2 by Neil Gaiman!)
7. 2 bottles of cologne
8. 3 tee-shirts (1 of which says 'I like Singapore lah!')
9. 2 sundresses
10. 1 Playstation 2 game
I must say that we are being very restrained with our shopping. I haven't bought any bags or strappy sandals yet!
We have also accomplished the following:
1. Met up with 35 friends
2. Eaten 37 out of 40 items on our 'Must Eat' list
3. Been fashionably late for a wedding dinner
4. Blogged from the airport (I'm awaiting a flight to Phuket)
5. Been to the Singapore Zoo
Will hopefully update with pictures soon!

Your shopping list leaves me with many questions, such as:
1) Aren't books cheaper in the UK?
2) Anime boxsets! But I thought cheaper to buy online? (Sorry, very Singaporean I know, keep talking about cheap, cheap)
3) Is the Playstation 2 game real or fake? :) Ha ha, no need to answer, just teasing you.
Congratulations on the extremely productive vacation. 35 friends in such a short time is impressive indeed! Or maybe you cheated by using the wedding dinner, hmm?
A belated word of caution: if you've bought anime boxsets here that are made in Hong Kong or Taiwan, you've probably got yourself a pirated copy of the anime, albeit a government-sanctioned one. You'll find that the English subtitles will very likely stink (to put it mildly), and this will be exacerbated if you have even a modicum of understanding of the Japanese language.
If you've got an Odex one (although I understand that Odex only produces VCDs now) then it's not pirated, but the subtitles will still stink.
Pics will be sweet. - D W
Thirty-seven out of forty on your food list !! Colour me impressed. And a little peckish. :-)
I have 10 days in Singaping starting next Tuesday. We will see how I go. I don't know that I have a food wish list yet, but maybe I will just need to make it up as I go along. Crystal Jade porridge? Mmm. Carrot cake, black style? Ya. Yong tau fu? OH YA. Kaya toast? YES PLEASE.
Oh, also, I am a little bummed that you are heading back out here again, because I had briefly entertained thoughts of the comic hijinks that would ensue were we to pick each other out of the crowd at, like, Taka or something.
tym:
1. Books are generally cheaper in the UK unless they are selling 3 for 2 at Borders!
2. Anime boxsets are very difficult to get online in the UK unless one is happy to pay enormous shipping costs.
3. It is real! Then I realised that the game can only be played on US-compatible platforms! Argh! I had to give it away.
4. If I cheated by using the wedding dinner, I would have had to say that I met up with 235 friends!
ketsugi: Your words of wisdom fall on deaf ears! Hahaha! The anime boxsets have been purchased from HMV, government stickers and all.
D W: I will post pictures up as soon as I've got my act together. :)
stellou: 10 days? 10 days? I found that 10 days was only long enough to make me wish I had more time off.
