Are you recommending these animes based on good plotlines or good animation?
not that much of a geek, I go for plot not animation. Nodame has bits of nice classical music.
What kind of animes are you interested? Nodame Cantabile is in the 2nd season and is very funny. My favourite includes (in no particular order):
1. Full Metal Alchemist
2. Skip Beat (on-going)
3. Ghost Hunt
4. Ouran High School Host Club
5. Mushishi
etc.
These are a few I can think of off-hand with good plot and good animation.
Do you mean shoujo anime, or shonen? If you want one that's not necessarily geared towards mainly boys or mainly girls, there's a really nice one. It's not very shonen really, but it isn't over-girly either. It's kind of a mixed genre type - romance/comedy/action/silliness, and it's done by Takahashi, Rumiko. It's called "Ranma 1/2" ("Ranma Nibunnoichi") - I think you would enjoy it *VERY* much ^_^
